Meditation 24/7

It’s quite easy to turn MiAffirmations into a meditation tool. You record your mantra into an existing playlist or create a new playlist, turn repeat on and choose a relaxing and/or meaningful background music.

Note that the free version has 3 predefined playlists and you cannot create new ones. This restriction does not exist in the paid version—for more info see the version comparison table.

Obviously, this technique would work only with mantras that have a meaning. It’s not useful with mantras that do not have any specific meaning (but are designed to be mere concentration tools).

What is a “harmoniser”?

I recently started using this title on my business card. I thought it would be catchy, but I was really surprised with the interest it created at a leadership meeting today. Many people asked me what the “harmoniser” is? and what does a “harmoniser” do?

So, basically, harmonisers (as I see them) are a breed of leaders that the world very much needs today. These people are happy and peaceful (well, a majority of the time) and their abundant peace and happiness spills out into their families, neighborhoods and work environments.

In business, they harmonize people, processes and systems they work with. They bring blessing into a team, which starts to flourish seemingly out of nothing. They would perform their tasks very well, but would also operate in the domain of group consciousness—to eliminate the agents of fear, anxiety and stress. In their harmonizing efforts, harmonisers are always focused on the long term goal, as it takes time to help establish harmony.

If you are a believer, a harmoniser is a person who intentionally helps, uplifts, cares and prays for others because she or he thinks it is hers/his sacred duty.  If you a non-believer, a harmoniser is a person who intentionally helps, uplifts and cares for others because he or she genuinely loves people. If we lived in the Star Wars galaxy, harmonisers would be Jedi warriors.

Structurally, harmonisers would position themselves as team leaders (and further up the chain) of the environment they move and work in, but it is not uncommon for harmonisers to completely avoid all of that in order to focus their work within the domain of group consciousness.

Worth mentioning is the source of harmoniser’s positive attitude, peace and happiness. If you want to be a successful harmoniser, you should hook up with the infinite reservoir of the same, so you could freely share harmony, peace and happiness with everybody else without depleting your own reserves.

Everybody in the world seeks this source, and they find it in all sorts of places and human activities. But for me, as a believer, this source could be found only in a personal relationship with God, who never changes and is always full (no matter the amount of happiness, peace and love you would ask Him to sprinkle over the others).

Positive Repetitive Affirming Image Sound Education – PRAISE: How kids may learn math or chemistry while playing action games!

Yesterday I’ve stumbled across a new use case for MiAffirmations—and the word is PRAISE (Positive Repetitive Affirming Image Sound Education).

My boy did not have a good night sleep and thoughts about last night’s bad dream kept coming up throughout the day (i.e. for some reason usual cuddles and assurances did not completely remove the fear caused by this particular bad dream). So, I wanted to help him by giving him an affirmation, which would play in the loop (on his iPad), and cause him to forget the nightmare and overcome the fear.

I’ve created a new MiAffirmations playlist containing the mentioned affirmation followed by the 5-second “silence” file. I’ve set it to run in the repeat mode and then switched to the iPad screen. The achieved effect was that MiAffirmations was playing in the background and the affirmation was heard every 5 seconds.

Then he started his favorite iPad game, which opened up and started it’s own background music and sound effects. As he was playing, every 5 seconds you could hear the affirmation play mixed with the game sound.

Then the moment of epiphany came. What if I record a times table detailing the results of multiplication operations, or periodic table describing the properties of chemical elements and play those in MiAffirmations tool while my son is playing with his games? That would mean that he would receive bits of information while leisurely playing on iPad and not even thinking about learning. In other words I would be able to extend his knowledge education session even into his play time — PRAISE.

Well, “learning while you play” is an old thing, but usually the knowledge gathered during play time was more about picking up new physical or social skills. But here we are talking about feeding in dry facts, memorizing volumes of hard data (which would take months of diligent study time) and learning the whole curricula (e.g. history, math, chemistry etc.) during the leisure time, by using the technique of Positive Repetitive Affirming Image Sound Education ( PRAISE ).

I’m really excited about this and will try it out; it reminds me of flash cards that we used when he was younger—but here we are using educational sound clips. What are your thoughts on this? What would you teach your kid if you would want to apply the PRAISE method in his or hers education? Do you see some other alternative use for MiAffirmations?

If you would like to try PRAISE on your child (or on yourself) you could use the free version of MiAffirmations (click on the FREE button below). The only limitation of the free version is that you can’t create new playlists, but would have to use one of the predefined ones. You can edit playlists with the paid version of Miaffirmations (compare versions).

The Power of the Word

I was feeling very frustrated and aggressive the other day…

It was a busy week so I skipped my meditation routine for few days and consequently allowed the stress to accumulate a bit. As the pressure of the work and home duties didn’t allow for any extra rest time, tiredness came in, and with it frustration and aggression felt invited too.

Then I recorded the following Bible verses into my MiAffirmations app:

“Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord, “And not a God afar off?” (Jeremiah 23:23).
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”  (Jeremiah 32:27).
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ (Jeremiah 33:3).

(I also have those verses printed and placed near my meditation seat, where I use them to initiate a “conversation” with God. For example, if I have a problem or am facing a difficult situation, then I would read these verses and take them as God’s response to all of my troubles :-) )

So, after listening for 10 minutes to the above three verses (with some beautiful instrumental worship music from David Delgado in the background), and reminding myself that those words are God’s answer to my problems, all frustration and aggression have left me and I actually felt happy and at peace.

That’s how the power of God’s Word helped me feel better and why I think MiAffirmations is a great tool for every believer. To grab your copy from the iTunes app store, click on one of the buttons below (compare versions):
